Anthony Richardson: Yeesh
I wonder where he'll end up......this kid's fall from the height of the 1st round on Draft day until now is really something else....
The Colts are still expected to trade Anthony Richardson ahead of this season.

Richardson has a $4.3 million roster bonus due on August 1st.
Once that bonus is paid, any team acquiring the former No. 4 overall pick would only pay him a minimum $1.1 million salary for 2026-27. pic.twitter.com/6axLUJdHJ0
He really needed another year at Florida if not two. He’ll get claimed probably ahead of us. When that team gives up, KO will get his shot if he still wants to.

That's basically the same as what the Vikings are paying Murray this year. He'll be some team's reclamation project. So the question would be...does Richardson have more upside than JJ. I don't think so personally.. They're both very young...JJ is 23 and Richardson is 24.
how long before somebody.... whelp, nevermind

I can't imagine anyone will trade for him, maybe a 7th? More likely he gets released outright. I hope JJ doesn't end up like this but who knows.
He's actually a good kid, Anthony....but like JIT said he should have stayed in college for maybe even 2 more years.
Who would u rather have as a developmental guy?
Brosmer
Richardson
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Might be one of those Richardson and a 7th for a 2028 6th.

if... IF <--- (thats a big if) JJM really does want out of MN, would it be pallatable to swap him and Richardson, with Indy send us back a mid/high day 2 pick?
I am not saying this is what I want, but if the team is looking away from him anyway, and there is an opportunity to swap developmental guys... I think JJM has more upside currently as he is still on his rookie deal with the 5th year option still on the table, Richardson could walk after this season.

Richardson, but whoever it is, he's still QB4 on the outside looking in. I don't think you make a move for AR unless you plan to keep and develop him.

If we did pick him up, yes, he would be QB4 and Brosmer jettisoned. That would put him on the Practice Squad at best, which then leaves the door open that if a half-season of tutelage under KOC he shows signs of stability/improvement, then any team can come along and claim him, after KOC's crew put the work in on him.
Right now, I wouldn't waste the effort or even a 7th. In the event he is still available after Aug 1, then it can be revisited to see if anything has changed in our QB room. If not, move along...nothing to see here.
Which is a shame because I kinda drooled over his effortless deep throws during the underwear olympics.
Please God, just one Lombardi before I die.

That's the point. Both JJM and Richardson were highly drafted and have underperformed. Both are very young reclamation projects. One knows the system...one doesn't. JJM still has two years on his rookie contract and an optional 5th. With Richardson and Murray...both would be FAs at the end of the season...and we know how that turned out with Darnold and Jones. At least with JJM, we'd still have a QB under contract. The JJM story hasn't played out yet. A lot of HOF QBs were still on the bench in their 3rd year waiting for their chance (and no..I'm not saying JJM is HOF...just that he has shown some signs in his short and injury prone career.

I am not sure JJM has underperformed as much as he has been unable to perform. IMO he has looked very much like a QB that only has about 10 starts. I am more concerned for his inability to stay on the field than I am about his talent. He has shown improvements and the ability to find something when he has to, what he hasnt shown is that he can be counted on to lead the offense on the field as a season as a starter. He needs more reps, and then even more after that, but if they are indeed enamored with Murray, and are going to shelve JJM and crush his mental well being... than get what you can get and let the kid get on with his life. let the season go to shit and be in a better position to draft another QB high next year.

I guess I don’t see the point. He’s like everything people hate about JJM, except he’s been bad for longer and no one on his team is saying good things about him. If he wants to sit on the practice squad with Brosmer, sure why not, but given how polarizing JJM is been, does anyone really want another one on the team? If you subscribe to the “KOC can whisper veterans, but not young QBs” line of thinking, well Richardson is still young and doesn’t have the extensive experience of someone like Darnold that KOC can really mold.
