Can Tai Felton make letting Addison walk a consideration?

It would be a good scenario for the Vikings if that can happen. You wouldn't have to pay Addision, which is one sneeze away from a long suspension, to a huge contract and have all that money tied up in WRs.

Letting an excellent WR walk rather than trading him would be very on brand for this team and I really hope Teasley is smarter in this regard than his predecessors. We are the Comp Pick Kings of the League and that's a very dubious distinction imo.

Pay my guy #3 or trade him sooner than later to get some value but please don't let him hit FA and become the "missing piece" for some team to win the SB right after. Addison is the type of player that legit SB contenders will go after in FA, not just mid-to-bad teams with money (Nailor... no offense).

I read somewhere that if Murray starts though the season and then moves onto another team for a bigger contract. The Vikings would ger a 3rd round pick compensatory pick next draft.

I don't know if they have ever published a formula. I think it has to do with what kind of contract he would get next season. I don't know if previous team playing time factors as much as the signing team playing time.

The formula also accounts for players the Vikings sign in Free agency as well.

Addison is out of mulligans, with the signing of Jennings and now if Felton has improved there's a simple easy to understand message to Addison, and what happens if he screws up, again.

IMO Teasley wants no part long term of a guy with 3 off the field incidents. Why should he? He didn't draft him.

Living in Washington state when Seattle traded DK Metcalf it was an unpopular move at the time, funny how winning the Superbowl put the kai bosh on all that Teasley saw the whole thing play out.

Whatever security players had with Kwesi evaporated when he got canned.

This.... We can't keep doing moves like this. Need more of a Belichick type thought process of getting something for them before their skill sets fall off a cliff. Its a hard move to make and everyone will hate you for it until you get 2 or 3 good players out of one aging one. We're going to have to do that with Jefferson here in the next couple of years.

Secondly....

If either of these QB's play top 15 in the league it wont matter. We'll have 2 x 1,000+ yrd WR's and trading them wont even be on your radar.

I think that is what he was drafted for. He has the speed. Would rather have a serviceable 2/3 in Jennings and Felton than overpay for Addison.

Felton MIGHT provide some options for the team and its been called out earlier that his growth could = Viking decision flex.

But I gotta see so much more, too early (for me) to even contemplate scenarios yet.

I know Addison has made some dumb-asz teen like decisions, but I also believe he's near criminally under-appreciated by the fanbase.

Addison is a very good WR. But he is also very unreliable. Take last year for example. JJ built quite a rapport with him in TC while Jefferson was out with the hamstring. But due to his suspension, when the season started Addison wasn't there. JJ basically had to throw to WRs he didn't know in Jefferson and AT.

Not saying it was the only thing, but it sure didn't help JJ succeed.

I think it mainly depends on what happens at QB. If one of the QBs balls out, and you feel confident that the window is NOW, you keep Addison, mortgage the future and have a nice 3-4 year windows before mini-rebuilding.

If our QBs look mid, and Felton looks ok, you probably just roll with JJ, Jennings, Felton.
