Meet Jared Allen a couple of times. He still comes over here in Montana (I live in Helena, about 4 hours south of Tom). I grew up in a little town called Wolf Creek. A fellow by the name of Joe Bloomquist (Brother to the Arizona Diamondbacks former player Willie, I say this because there is some connection here) runs a guiding outfit on the Missouri just down the road. Jared came up here a couple of times in the summer while still playing (Prior to getting married) and went down the river. Surprisingly ran in to him in a local establishment. He came back a couple of times, and he still does occasionally, but he doesn't seem to frequent the taverns as much as he used to.

My brother is an owner in a restaurant, in Eden Prairie, where the Vikings would take their free agent prospects when they came to town. When he saw Jared Allen, he was impressed that he wasn't a big muscled up guy, just a very large human being!

I have a half sister who lives in East Helena and has a cabin on the Missouri river at the gateway to the rockies. I have been on the water there, and there is some decent Walleye fishing there. Bullman's in Helena has good pizza.

I've been through Whitefish and spent a night at the ski resort there in the summer. The women and kids went to the huckleberry festival in town but my father in law and I stayed at the cabin and sipped whisky out on the deck. I don't think Brees even had the treehouse back then. I also didn;t see ant hops growing in the valley.

Didn't mean to derail the thread but I love Montana and have spent some time there and have some strong connections to the place.

I didn't know you were so close to me. 4 hours sounds like a big distance, but in Montana, that's almost next door, just over the Continental Divide! I have done a fair amount of business with Lewis & Clark Brewing...next time I am down there, I will give you a shout.

Sounds good, I was actually up in BigFork here a couple of weeks ago for a golf tournament, Eagle Bend. Was a short trip and came back to Helena. My wife and I do craft shows and we are planning one possibly in Kalispell around Christmas time.

Sounds like it's been a while since you were in Whitefish. It's really changed/grown/matured in the last ten years or so. Brees bought a place on the Lake about 3-4 years ago and the ranch acreage (north end of the lake) about two years ago. He keeps a low profile and for the most part, locals don't bother celebs here. Not like other towns I've lived where people go "ga ga ga" over celebs.

Ironically, this coming weekend is the annual Huckleberry Festival here. An anniversary of sorts for you!

I've been here over 30 years. I was actually the first commercial grower of hops in the state of Montana back in 2012-13. The objective was to prove that hops could be commercially grown here. We proved it. Mine was a research hopyard with over 45 different varieties to see which varieties would grow best. I pulled it out after the 2017 harvest...learned all we could from those years. There is a top-notch hop grower down by Kalispell...good farmer, exceptional soil, top-quality production. But it's not anything like Yakima where there are tens of thousands of acres.

A buddy of mine was at dinner here in Whitefish over the Fourth. He was waiting at the bar and he heard a very familiar voice (to him) at the next stool. He looked over and saw it was Mooch (Steve Mariucci).

About three weeks ago, my wife and I were wandering about the Arts Festival booths, and I saw some guy who looked very familiar to me...he walked towards me and I said a couple times..."I know you, I know you". He said "who you lookin' for?" I said "John Fogerty". He said "looks like you just found him".

F**k Drew Brees and F*k Sean Payton. Cheating scumball mofo's who were willing to end careers for a championship. F them up down and all around.

now he can write off damn near anything he wants for toys as a "farm expense", use those loses to offset his other ventures. I would be shocked to learn that he does much of anything with the livestock besides take some pictures with his hat on.

Fogerty has a place down near Livingston. A couple of years ago we were in Livingston for their little music festival. One of the bands said they had a special guest. Fogerty got up and played Centerfield and a few other songs with them.
