CJ Stroud Turned Down What?!
Holy. Shit. Agent malpractice. You sign that deal and thank all the gods and lucky stars.

Stroud is really stressing out the Houston brass.....tough decision upcoming. This dude is still playing on his original contract which means they smelled out trouble a bit ago. I think they are going to let him walk at season's end barring some kind of miracle remainder of the season. The warts that kept Tampa from going all in earlier to re-up Mayfield are showing up big time since he resigned. Its scary territory for teams.

The reports of Stroud turning down $50M/YR were so outlandish that even at the time I wondered if his agent was the one who floated that out there. But at the same time it's the going rate so, maybe. At this point it's looking like he should've probably taken whatever Houston was offering.

Maybe KO can fix him

I think he stays. What's the alternative? Starting over at QB? Hard to see that. Stroud's been pretty mid so far, but he's yet to throw an interception, and the Texans lead the league in sacks given up.

why would they have risked it? if they were doing something under the table that would have destroyed Kraft and the team. I used to think the same as you, but the more I thought about it...to much to risk for the gravy train they were riding. thats not to say that money doesnt get funneled through endorsement deals via back door channels though.
Brady didn't need Kraft's type of back room or under the table deals. He has Gisele and then moved on.
Its kinda eerie how similar the Vikings and Texans are...
Both with exceptional defenses and questions at Qb.
Somehow the Vikings are 3/0 and Texans 0/3.
Maybe that Tx D isnt playing up to historical norms? Or their +/- on TO's is bad? I havent looked it up.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

i heard/read that they had separate check books, so he was very much about HIS money, but was smart enough to realize that there is more money as a winning QB and a long career, than killing a teams cap and playing with a bunch of low dollar slugs on a losing team.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

I was referring more to Kraft's type of back room deals down in Florida.
