Observation #7 in MIN win over MIA - Kyler Murray started to look better passing when Darrisaw went down and KOC dialed up his FB to chip block on the DE for longer pass plays.

Observation #8 in MIN win over MIA - Viking punt return teams are very poor at knowing where the ball is and guys got in Myles Price’s way or were close to touching balls (could lead to turnovers). Need better awareness.

Observation #9 in MIN win over MIA - So, on to KOC. Today, his EARLY game plan askED Kyler to do what he does worst - A lot of daggers & long developing routes. Either he or Kyler adjusted in the mid-2H and it was better

Observation #10 in MIN win over MIA - Isaiah Rodgers saved a TD with great pass coverage on the 3rd down with MIN up 9-0. He is likely the Vikings best pass coverage guy.

Observation #11 in MIN win over MIA - You are literally watching a defense that has the confidence of the 1986 Bears or 2000 Ravens. They have an Achilles heel, and it is the runs up the middle when they get out of their lanes trying to rush the passer.

Observation #12 in MIN win over MIA - Before I realized that Ivan Pace tipped the punt, I said he is not to be faulted if that were a penalty as he laid out perfectly. An effort play.

BS the offense could have really used the momentum with a TD to put it away like a real team.
Observation #13 in MIN win over MIA - At this stage, 4 full games in, these two teams were embarrassingly sloppy (dropped passes and mistakes) and error prone. No flow to the game due to all the penalties until the 4th for Minnesota

Observation #14 in MIN win over MIA - Starting to see something from rookie #1 Caleb Banks. He is not a force yet in pass rushing but he is getting lower in his stance & technique and also downfield trying to make tackles. There’s a flicker.

Observation #15 in MIN win over MIA - The Vikings Offensive line was absolutely terrible today in pass protection. Brandel is often a weak link but Brian O’Neill was a liability today. Got schooled all day. Too much of a veteran to get beat like that.

Observation #16 in MIN win over MIA - Johnny Hecker needs to go – he had 2 horrible punts that gave MIA good field position. When you O sputters a lot of the time, you have to have a good punter. Even if you sign someone on another team’s practice squad, Johnny is hurting MIN.

Observation #17 in MIN win over MIA – Aaron Jones at his “advanced age” and really no backfield help, really stepped up. Had patience and vision to find holes that were not initially there. He does not have home run speed, but has burst for 10-15 yds & it was enough today

Observation #18 in MIN win over MIA - Out of past PTSD Viking experiences, I figure that every kick Will Reichard is about to kick will be a miss. But he has not and does not. Without him, this team is 1-3 or 2-2 at best.

Observation #19 in MIN win over MIA - It worked Minnesota’s way, but the Dolphins got some ticky-tack calls to negate two long scores in this game. Luck is on Minnesota’s side right now, but the schedule gets tougher. Luck won’t last.

Observation #20 in MIN win over MIA – The offense finally had some rhythm in the 2H, but 32 straight possessions w/out an off. TD will get you beat by N.O. next week. Great defense, Great Kicker, great Kick/Punt returner & no turnovers today. Vikes are 4-0, so all good 4 now!

I said last week we need to start pounding it to the TE.
You’re welcome, KO.
O starting to show signs of a pulse.

All you need to know about this game: It ended with the crowd giving Will Reichard a standing ovation and then booing the offense for kneeling at the Dolphins' 1-yard line. Nice job by the offense to kill the clock on its final drive. 4-0.
